About the Balmain Brand:
BALMAIN was founded in 1946 by Pierre Balmain, a pioneer of the “Jolie Madame” style—defined by cinched-waist dresses and full skirts that accentuated the feminine silhouette.
Pierre Balmain was also a foundational figure in shaping the concept of Haute Couture. To him, true couture meant garments meticulously hand-sewn and embroidered to achieve the highest level of refinement and precision, tailored perfectly to each individual’s measurements. A single Haute Couture dress could require hundreds—or even thousands—of hours to complete.
